Clinical Pathways

Clinical pathways are becoming an increasingly important tool for managing clinical decision making across therapeutic areas. While there is variation in components, most pathways developed by payers include treatment-regimen algorithms based on classes of drugs and disease-management instructions.

Pathway expansion is likely to continue, especially as pathways are rolled into other alternative payment models or other decision-support tools that seek to define the value of treatments.
